Description: The station utilises coal as a primary source of energy to generate electricity. As such, ash is created as a by-product from the combustion process. Two forms of ash are generated namely coarse ash and fly ash. Coarse ash is removed from the bottom of the boilers, while fly ash is separated from the exhausted fumes/gases by means of electrostatic precipitators.
